They are actors, doing their job. How is Shakespeare any different from say the Witcher? One was just written hundreds of years ago with place names we know. It’s still fiction!! It never really happened! People of colour need to see that they have a place on peoples tv screens as lead characters not just as a side kick. As I replied one time, it depends on how closely a production wants to cleave to realism and historical accuracy. Shakespeare’s plays as I noted in my comment did not have realism, setting or historical accuracy, as a strong feature meaning a blind casting would have been okay. But there I disagree with you that in all cases blind casting must be done. In one end of a spectrum, you have biopics based on real people.
