Hippopotamus is not native to Colombia and will cause irreversible damage to the ecosystem. Exotic pythons in the Everglades have taken over and have upset the balance in the food web and habitat. Now there is a huge eradication program to remove them. There are many other examples of invasive species damage. Sadly, the only solution is to cull them. Irresponsible greed from Pablo Escobar. The real problem is that the authorities never took care of them, they never took action to control their population or move them to another environment. I'm so sorry, they should have another chance. Liz Jurado it's not about them though unfortunately. It's about all the other species that they will negatively impact through being there..culling (or translocation back africa) is the only real solution.
