I only contact the bank etc on my terms using the official channels. Sorry to hear this happened to her. It does make me wonder how they get our info - it seems almost like they are leads passed on sometimes. Last year I was called up for Jury Service but due to caring responsibilities, I was unable to do it so filled the form in accordingly. Before I had confirmation back that I was being excused, I had an email supposedly from the courts trying to get me to pay if I wanted to be excluded from Jury service. It looked convincing and for a split second you do wonder if it is real. But then I thought this can’t be right, there was no mention of payment in the original papers to say I’d have to pay to be excused. Then a few days later, I got my official notification from the courts confirming I could be excused, with no mention of charges.
